Modesto, CA- Tessa Bowers (29) is being held at Stanislaus County Jail after word leaked onto social media from students at the high school where she taught, that she had offered the male students in her classes blowjobs for positive reviews on the year end teacher review surveys. Several of the boys she had encounters with had bragged on social media about receiving oral sex from Ms. Bowers.
Word spread quickly to the parents of the boys and to that of other concerned parents. Several of the students that claimed to have had encounters with Ms. Bowers, were brought in for questioning by the police. 2 of the boys had cellphone video footage of Ms. Bowers performing oral sex on them. As soon as authorities viewed the video evidence, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Tessa Bowers was a first year teacher and police believe she was overly concerned about having great reviews heading into her second year of teaching. Because of the age of the victims, their names will not be released. It is estimated that somewhere between 50 and 75 boys had been approached by Ms. Bowers. Of those, 27 had illicit encounters involving oral sex with their teacher.
Ms. Bowers has not spoken publicly on the matter and is being held without bail in Stanislaus County Jail. She faces a minimum of 50 years in prison if convicted.
